Well, as was prudently suspected, the speakeasy operation that stood fortuitously as The glorious Stronghold in Venice CA was shut down, axed, booted out. Apparently they’ve taken up residence at The Waterfront in Marina Del Rey and are still bringing the same high caliber American roots music. The Reflectacles (new EP The Wiley Post coming to DHR any day) will be performing Sep 9 with The White Buffalo, Lukas Nelson, and Promise of the Real. And tonight Aug 27, Escalator Hill opens for The Brothers Comatose and Whispering Pines.
I’m all about the opportunity to finally experience the Brothers Comatose doing their neo blue grass thing, and have recently become very excited about the country roots rockin’ Whispering Pines. Legend has it that the Brothers Comatose’s mandolin player’s cousin is in Whispering Pines. Tis a small world out here indeed. Maybe we’ll see some on stage collaborations…
