The Myonics and the Cobalt Cranes will be performing this Sunday, Sept 5 at Echo Curio (Echo Park, CA). We’re totally looking forward to this show! It’s not only great to have The Myonics in town, but what a fantastic venue for the appearance. It’ll be like trying to fit a bicycle into a backpack, in terms of how miserably the Echo Curio will fail at containing the raucous sound that will surely be blasting from these excellent bands. Joining the lineup while on tour from Seattle is the Night Beats.
The Myonics most recent EP, “O Africa, Brave Africa!” will be followed up by the imminently forthcoming EP “Digits”. “Africa…” saw The Myonics shift their studio explorations into broader embrace: stirring together far reaching elements of psych, rock, punk, and even a slightly electronic sound – always maintaining that piercing attitude that so effectively transpires from Jasper’s simultaneously lackadaisical/striking vocals. We can only wait to hear what’s in store with “Digits”, and perhaps we’ll get a sneaky peek into some of the tracks this Sunday night.
“Digits” will be available Sept 28, with a scheduled Release Party at The Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. Also performing at the event is The Like, having just returned from major European and Australian tours.
The Cobalt Cranes couldn’t have conceptualized a better album cover for their debut EP “In Media Rez” – it illustrates their music perfectly. I could picture myself behind the wheel of that car – surrounded by the flames of my own electric energy while maneuvering through the crazy scenes goin’ down around me on the buzzing roads of life, just cutting and burning through the bullshit. Good ass driving music too!
