Brand new Cab 20 “Cactus” EP has been added to the DHR mix! I was one of the lucky few to receive a handmade CDR prototype, numbered and everything (mine’s # 1 of 9, jealous?), but now it’s available to the masses. From what we can tell it is a 4-track EP featuring retooled versions of cuts previously released on their debut LP “Dirty Smiles”. While the early cuts are not mere demos, these new and fresh takes may very well be better (and fuller) – we let you decide.
Cab 20 is a ripping young rock n’ roll band based in Los Angeles – out of the El Segundo area. They boast a fat, raw sound; the power trio effect is there, but while leaning even on the garage end of town (which makes sense since El Segundo is filled with warehouses). Alongside Temporal Love, also of the west side of LA, this young trio is easily one of the hottest bands worth keeping an eye and ear on right now. Although still in their infancy, they certainly hold the promise of making it the way the Black Keys have.
