About Dirty Hippie Radio

Dirty Hippie Radio was born out of passion for music, art, writing, and creation. Our primary purpose is to extend the reach of our network in order to expand exposure for artists and their music within the vast community of the independent scene.  The other side of that coin is our commitment to bring a diverse selection of the best, most interesting independent music available to an audience of listeners who are likely to never hear of such talent otherwise.  We’ve brought it all together in an interactive site with a simple interface.  Unlike many sites we all know, where when you open the inundated home page and can’t even figure out what to do with it, where to go, or how on earth to get the music to play, Dirty Hippie Radio is playing music the moment our home page is opened.

Our homegrown internet radio station is highly personable.  Not a track makes it to the player without filtering through Dirty Jeff’s ears, and we make it a point to catch as many of the artists live as we can.  It’s not uncommon for bands to be caught off guard, finding themselves of a sudden shaking hands with either Dirty Jake or Jeff sometime before, during, in between, or after a performance.  We’re not just nerds at home on computers – we’re out there in the mix, experiencing and finding the coolest sounds goin’ round; and our tentacles are far reaching.

Check out our Blog regularly for constant updates about New Music, Upcoming Shows, Show Reviews, Album Reviews, and whatever magnificence farts from our brains.  If you spend most of your free time, and those moments in the cubical when the boss isn’t looking, on Facebook, then be sure to become a fan of Dirty Hippie Radio on Facebook to maintain the latest and greatest with our scene, as our Blog also feeds posts directly to our Facebook.  If you dig your own space, we are there too (Dirty Hippie Radio on Myspace).

We hope you enjoy what we’ve created, and what we couldn’t do without the artists’ creations.  There’s a caldera of talent boiling out of the independent scene today.  This is the next great era for music.  If you don’t get on board quick you’ll certainly be left behind, marooned on an island of grey and black.  Colour up your life, stimulate your world, expand your mind with Dirty Hippie Radio!
