Johnny Mc Glinn single “Fall” just added!
We just added a new single from our friend Johnny Mc Glinn over in Dublin, Ireland. “Fall” is a wistful piece delivered in the sentimental indie-pop form, providing a teaser from Johnny’s forthcoming solo album. The song borders on being popular film soundtrack worthy, and we run the risk of getting punched in the face by suggesting there’s an air of Oasis in its sound.
Listen to Johnny Mc Glinn now!
Kirk Joseph’s Back Yard Groove (w/ Dr. John) is on DHR!
Did you know that Kirk Joseph’s innovative “Sousafunk” project, the Kirk Joseph’s Backyard Groove “Sousafunk Ave” LP is proudly presented in our mix at DHR?
For those unaware, Kirk Joseph, son of trombonist Waldren “Frog” Joseph, is a master sousaphone player (that’s the one that looks like a tuba), one of the founding members of the legendary New Orleans-born Dirty Dozen Brass Band, band leader of Kirk Joseph’s Backyard Groove and the 504 Brass Band, and a pioneer of Sousafunk. Folk is the foundation of all spoken word music (music with song). It is the most malleable form of music, capable of adapting any variation – from Celtic jig to brazen punk, Andean folklorico to whiskey-drinkin’ cowboy… Even blues is a type of folk music, [...]
Quactus LP “A Sense Of We” just added!
We’re delighted and honored to welcome California-based jamband Quactus, making the leap into our mix with their sophomore LP “A Sense Of We.”
It’s a ripping, upbeat album – filled with soaring, fat, and, at times, Allman-esque guitar leads; laced with psyched-out spacey effects and organ-cushioned undertones… A skosh of reggae here, an Irish whiskey jig there, and a bit reminiscent of Tea Leaf Green over yonder. At any rate, this is jamband to its core.
According to ShakedownNews.com, the album is [...]
The Motorboats EP “…Shall Never Sink” just added!
Their ship has landed… on DHR! Announcing the debut release/EP/demo from The Motorboats, titled “The Motorboats …Shall Never Sink.”
It’s 1 part indie rock, 1/4 part punk, 1/8 part pop; featuring Brett Hall of the brilliant El Segundo/Los Angeles-based folk outfit Hang Dog Expression.

Collin Ludlow-Mattson & the Folks LP just added!
This delicious record comes to us from lovely San Francisco, by way of the vocally endowed Collin Ludlow-Mattson. Collin laces and grinds his Neil Young-esque voice across melodic, organ-laden, folky psych tunes, with help from the Folks. It’s essentially a collaborative album, combining the talents of a group of friends who’re productive musicians in their own right (including Matt Adams, a mainstay on DHR with The Blank Tapes), centered around Collin’s writing prowess.

The Neckbeard Boys on KCSF and DHR
The Neckbeard Boys have landed! One of San Francisco’s newest, funnest, most foot-stompeness bluegrass collaborations – involving a DHR favorite artist, fiddler/banjoist/multi-instrumentalist Luke Philbert. They’re sweeping the streets, clubs, and house party floors of that fine, colorful city; and the airwaves!
In lieu of mastered studio recordings, The Neckbeard Boys make their debut onto DHR with a live radio appearance captured from a gig at KCSF 90.0 FM San Francisco. Click here to listen.
