We’re not sure what’s up with Derek Philbert. We know he’s talented, we know he’s diverse, and we know everyone should know his song “Get Well Soon”. We’re just not sure where he’s going.
Derek appears to be one of those innately endowed artists that can likely do whatever he wants. For now we have a gem of an acoustic based piece (quite a beautiful song it is) next to ambient, atmospheric, experimental, mix and loop material. Sweet! Can’t wait to see where this guy is going to take us. We can only expect certain creativity and freedom of expression.
