Sounds of Waves got me stoked the first time I watched it, which was before it was even finished. Once Luke Thorpe, independent film maker, had put the finishing touches of mixing, editing, tweaking, and mastering, I was beyond impressed.

Not all surf flicks can say they have soul, but I dare you to find a minute in Sounds of Waves that doesn’t have more soul than the last. That’s part due to surf footage from all over the world, and extra part due to a killer soundtrack, which I’ve had the pleasure of putting into the Dirty Hippie Radio Player. Thanks to Luke for donating his soundtrack to further the Dirty Hippie Cause; and added thanks to the bands: Scholars Word, Humble Soul, My Friend Ben, Three and a Quarter, Seer, Matt Reed, Youthless, and Mike Saganic.
Make sure to dig on the preview to Sounds of Waves featured below. Luke’s got a lot of cool content on his site, if you’re into the whole surfing thing (which if you aren’t you should be), so make sure to swing by and check it out at Monumental Films.com
