DHR guest DJs on KXLU 2/2/12
Dirty Hippie Radio is guest DJ-ing tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 2 from noon-3 on KXLU’s Levitation Radio.
The program spins a seamless blend of new and old garage, psych, rock, and whatever penchants the DJ happens to be entertaining from week to week. Always, the selection keeps listeners in tune with today’s beat, while reminding and unearthing what led up to [...]
Manhattan Murder Mystery Writeup in LA Times
DHR would like to give LA Times writer Daniel Siegal kudos for recognizing one of LA’s shreddingest underground bands – the Manhattan Murder Mystery.
It’s exciting and important to us when a DHR band receives accolades; because we believe in this music scene, and it means the world to us when others do too. MMM’s appearance in one of our city’s most popular rag sheets is big news. Good work guys, and good job Daniel Siegal.

DHR and KXLU to DJ for The Terrapin at Casey’s (Downtown LA)
Dirty Hippie Radio is proud to announce that Dirty Jeff will be DJ-ing live at Casey’s Irish Pub in downtown LA Friday night Jan 28. They’re bringing in Seasons to fill the bill with them, another fantastic band that’s featured here on DHR.

It’s just another case of overproduced music. Say whaaat? Yeah, I do think of overproduced music when I am forced to eat a (fake) shiny apple. I think of great music, like great fruit, that is spoiled with the over dazzled, superficial festoonery [...]

We want kids to be talking about DHR so much that parents think it must be the latest drug fad. We want our station to make the party like the rug that really ties the room together. We’ll see you at the festival if you’re there, and when we do we’ll give you a cool sticker and a high-five.
